  • NTT "Nihongo-no Goitokusei" is a psycholinguistic database of Japanese words consisting of nine sublexicons grouped into four sets. The database is very useful for not just psycholinguistic study but development of technologies in such fields as education, speech processing and natural language processing. Volume 5, "Characters," is contained in Vols. 1-6 (First Release set) and consists of three subdatabases: (1) Character properties (ratings for familiarity, complexity and prior knowledge etc.), (2) Kanji (Chinese character) pronunciation (plausibility ratings for pronunciation) and (3) Radicals (bushu) (objective information). 6847 entry characters were collected from JIS X O208－1990 character set. A search software, speech data and text format files are also included.
